I’m Paulina and my dog is Donut (donut.pawfriend). Donut is currently 4 years old and a cross between a maltese and poodle (maltipoo). She’s a very high energy and outgoing girl.
Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?
We make sure to be extra vigilant when she’s showing symptoms. We look at how much she’s eating, how often she’s urinating or pooping. We just see her personality and if something is “off” we have her checked in order to ensure that we catch any illnesses early on.

It covered a lot of diseases that poodles seem to get when they are older

Oh yes, I feel a lot more at ease should anything go wrong. I never want the reason for Donut not to be treated to be lack of funds, I want her to get the best care as possible so I can always say I gave it my all
Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?
The mentality that something bad might not happen to them or the reputation that insurance companies always try to decline their claim
Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?
Our pets will inevitably get old, they will need vet care if not now, at some point in the future. We shouldn’t deprive them of proper medical care because we didn’t have the foresight to plan ahead!
