Forwarding from China to Singapore
So, for sending the mincer (and any of your other Taobao loots) back from China to Singapore, you have many different options to select from. You can use Taobao’s own forwarding service, but it will probably be pretty ex since they charge by the bigger of the actual weight versus volumetric weight. With most third party forwarders for shipment via sea, they use volumetric weight, which will be a lot more affordable.
As of today (18/11/20), the current shipping charge for 0.1 cubic metres is ¥240 (approx $48). But the rates are fluctuating quite a bit lately, so check with the forwarder directly.
Step 1: Add Jason on WeChat
This is the usual forwarding company I go to, you can scan the code on WeChat and speak to him directly for the latest rates, and how to send your parcel back.
Step 2: Get the warehouse address from Jason
Inform him you need to send parcels back to Singapore, and he will give you the address of the warehouse to send all your parcels to.
Step 3: Add the address to your Taobao address
Then, copy the address and add it to the addresses on Taobao. Be sure to replace the part that says 你的中文名字 into your Chinese name, and ensure all other details are correct, and nothing is left out. Send a screenshot to Jason if you want to be safe, and have him check the information are correct.
Step 4: Shop as per normal
Now, you can shop as per normal. The only difference is that you should select the address given by Jason when checking out. Also, remind your sellers to write the code given to you so that your parcel is directed to the correct warehouse. For example, my code is C7232, so I’ll send this message to the sellers 货物外包装写上[唛头号C7232],切记!
When all your items has reached the warehouse, let Jason know you are ready to ship them out, and he will send you an excel sheet. Simply key in all the tracking number into the sheet with the necessary details, and they will prepare for consolidation.
P.S. To make sure that nothing is left out, be sure to just send a message to the seller and ask them how many parcels are there in case they send your order out in separate parcels.
Also, using third party forwarders allows you to buy things that Taobao does not allow to consolidate. This means that you can buy some pet products like shampoo, conditioner, treats, etc that you can’t send normally.
There are some really good shops that makes amazing homemade snacks for human or treats for your pets, just look around for them and you can send them over!
