Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

I wanted coverage that would ease the financial burden of unexpected vet visits, especially for emergencies or long-term care. I also looked for a plan with comprehensive benefits but still affordable.

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

Aon Happy Tails stood out because of its well-rounded coverage, including medical, surgical, and even alternative treatments. The flexibility and benefits offered great value for peace of mind.

How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

The process was surprisingly smooth and straightforward. The information was clear, and I could complete everything online in under 30 minutes.

Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Yes, I feel much more at ease knowing that if anything happens, I’m prepared. It’s comforting to know that Diamond can get the care he needs without financial stress.

Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

Many people might think their pet is young and healthy, so insurance feels unnecessary until something actually happens. There’s also a perception that pet insurance is complicated or expensive, which might discourage them.

Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Vet bills can be overwhelming, and having insurance ensures that your pet’s health doesn’t depend on your bank account. Look for coverage that fits your pet’s needs and your budget.

What do you look out for when considering Pet Insurance?

I look for comprehensive coverage, clear terms, affordable premiums, and positive reviews from other pet owners.

If you have checked out Happy Tails, what do you like the most about the policy? look out for when considering Pet Insurance?

I love that it covers a wide range of treatments, including emergencies and hospitalization, and even alternative therapies, which many policies don’t offer.

Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?

I feed them with freeze dried, cooked food and kibbles as a mixture or diet to make sure that their nutrients are covered. With their meals I feed them Coconut oil, salmon oil, joint care supplements, prebiotics, probiotics and 8 in 1 supplements

Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

1. The insurance coverage – Like that is being cover in the premium.

2. The claiming process – Is it easy to claim or what is the procedure to submit for claims & approvals..

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

I have been hearing a lot of positive online reviews, and also they are one of the most comprehensive policy coverage out there. It’s also assuring to know that it’s backed by a big company which means they are financially stable and i probably won’t have any claims issue.

https://www.instagram.com/thesmellysisters_/

How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

Everything is digital so it’s really easy to use and apply.

The application was fast, just that prior the application, we need to bring our babies for a vet check-up to get the form endorsed.

Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Feeling more secure and feel like having a extra protection for the babies!

Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

I honestly think that because people lack of the awareness and understanding towards the products.

Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

Take your time to check out all the policies and see which one fits into your needs the best.

Buying them an insurance is like buying an insurance for your family too, get them protected!

Aon’s HappyTails: @oolongmilkytea

Hi! My name is Jane and I’m the dog mum of Oolong, a husky turning 5 years old in 2025! I am also the founder of Pawjourr & Woof Agency where we do marketing for pet companies like Purina, Elanco and Swedencare.

Oolong is a covid baby, and we got him during the pandemic. Since then, he has been with us through the entire journey of building a business and when we moved to New York, he took his longest flight ever (30 hours!) from Singapore. From there, he has gotten his paw prints over at the Grand Canyan, Salt Lake, Sequoia National Park, Napa Valley and not forgetting Times Square, his first US city!

https://www.instagram.com/oolongmilkytea/

Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?

We make sure Oolong goes for regular check up at the vet, and we empower his daily meal with supplements targeting medical conditions that we know he is susceptible to like gut health and joint health. It also took us some time to figure out the diet he thrives on the most (homecooked food!) and we also bring him to our office 3-4x a week to make sure he gets the simulation he needs for an active brain.

https://www.instagram.com/oolongmilkytea/

Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

1. Coverage – what do they cover?

2. Ease of claim – is it easy to claim the expenses from online reviews? T

o be honest, i have seen friends and family spent high 5 digits on their pets so price is not really a concern especially since dogs are almost sure to get sick when they get older. The most important thing is the coverage and to make sure that the policy makes sense in the long run.

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

Lots of positive online reviews, and also they are one of the most comprehensive policy coverage out there. It’s also assuring to know that it’s backed by a big company which means they are financially stable and i probably won’t have any claims issue.

https://www.instagram.com/oolongmilkytea/

How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

Everything is digital so it’s really easy and i love not having to talk to anymore at all, especially since insurance agents have a bad reputation on selling you policies that are best for them (and not you). Using a platform ensures that everything is neutral, safe and i cant exit whenever i want to.

The application was fast, but we had to bring Oolong for a vet check-up to get the form endorsed. A few hiccups here and there as i didn’t sign on some parts of the form, but the customer service lady was very friendly and called me a few times (and sent email) to follow up.

Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Peace of mind! Knowing that Oolong is insured and that we can share the financial load with our insurer means that i do not need to choose between price vs. the quality of medical care if anything happens to him. Being a business owner, we don’t have income stability so knowing there’s this layer of basic protection makes us feel assured.

Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

I think there is a general lack of awareness and understanding towards the product, especially since Singapore is a small market.

We all have health insurance so why not for our pets, who also fall sick like us?

Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

Take your time to check out all the policies and see which one fits into your needs the best.

Taking care of our cherished pets is just as important as looking after any family member. Opting for pet insurance like Aon Happy Tails is a smart way to safeguard their health and give you peace of mind.

Aon’s HappyTails: @Hello.I.am.sunday

Meet Sunday and his paw-mily!

Hello, I am Kristin, and Sunday is a miniature schnauzer turning 2 this May! 🎉🐶

@hello.i.am.sunday

Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?

Miniature schnauzers are prone to eye-related diseases such as cataracts 🧐 and heart-related diseases 💔. Bringing them to regular yearly check-ups 🏥 would help to detect the disease in time and receive treatment promptly.

@hello.i.am.sunday

Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

When shopping around for pet insurance, our buying process revolved around three main considerations: pricing, coverage, and exclusions. We wanted a policy that offered comprehensive coverage at a reasonable price while minimizing exclusions that could potentially leave gaps in our pet’s protection.

During our research, Aon Happy Tail emerged as the best option for us. Their policy offered competitive pricing, extensive coverage for various medical expenses, and relatively few exclusions compared to other providers. This combination of factors gave us confidence that Aon Happy Tail would provide the level of protection our pet needs without breaking the bank.

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

Firstly, their premiums were offered at the right price, especially with the No Claims Discount (NCD) feature, which incentivized responsible pet ownership by reducing premiums when there were no claims made.

Moreover, a crucial factor in our decision was the lifetime coverage provided by Aon Happy Tail. Knowing that our pet would be covered for the entirety of their life brought us peace of mind, especially considering the potential for chronic or long-term health issues that may arise.

Additionally, we found Aon Happy Tail’s co-payment terms to be reasonable, even as our dog aged. This meant that we could continue to afford necessary medical care for our pet, without facing excessively high out-of-pocket expenses as they grew older

@hello.i.am.sunday

Q: How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

It was very simple, we went through a friend who was an insurance agent and got it underwritten within a day.

Q: Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Certainly, getting my pet insured has brought about a significant mental shift.

I now feel a greater sense of security knowing that my pet is covered in the event of any medical emergencies or necessary treatments. This assurance provides a considerable relief, particularly after experiencing a situation like Sunday’s bilateral eye surgery.

Knowing that I have financial support and access to the necessary medical care for my pet alleviates a significant amount of stress and worry.

Q: Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

People are not aware of the importance and the cost of medical fees should their pet need to undergo major surgery or require long-term medical care.

Q: Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

Start Early: Consider getting pet insurance as soon as you bring your pet home. Starting early can help ensure coverage for any potential health issues that may arise.

Understand Coverage: Make sure you understand what is covered and what is not covered by the policy. Some policies may exclude pre-existing conditions or specific treatments, so read the fine print carefully.

Consider Your Pet’s Needs: Think about your pet’s breed, age, and any pre-existing conditions they may have. Some pets may be more prone to certain health issues, so choose a policy that provides adequate coverage for those potential problems.

Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have before purchasing a policy. Understand the claims process, reimbursement procedures, and any other terms and conditions associated with the policy.

Consider Your Budget: Choose a policy that fits within your budget and provides the level of coverage you’re comfortable with. Remember that pet insurance can provide peace of mind knowing that you can afford necessary medical care for your furry friend

Does Your Dog Like to Shred Toys? Here are the Right Kind of Toys You Should Get

Is your dog an aggressive chewer who goes through one toy after another without sparing a single one? Well, this is a common trait in most dogs, as they like to put their toys in their mouths and chew on them. Especially with a teething puppy at home, it is nothing uncommon. You may wish to buy indestructible toys for the dog, but it is tough to figure out the toys that would last. You also need to ensure that the toy actually keeps the dog engaged. You have come to the right place, as we have all the details listed below.

1. Dog Puzzle Teething Toys:

These are other types of teething toys that prevent the formation of tartar and also help the teething puppy to get relief. These are made of non-toxic rubber that is puncture resistant. These toys are designed such that you can stuff them with treats for the dog to slowly feed on. This keeps the dog busy for a long time and makes them tired as they increase brain activity. A few products like Kongs offer different rubber quality depending on the chewing issue of your dog. They have a puppy version too, which is easier to chew on for smaller dogs. If you have a puppy at home or plan to get one from one of the puppy breeders, do not get one of these toys to keep the young puppy busy and make it tired.

2. Bone Toys:

This is quite popular with dogs as they are obsessed with bones. Real bones can be hazardous for the dog as the splinters can puncture their esophagus and cause severe damage, so sticking to a bone toy is a much safer alternative. Especially a few bone toys have some flavor to them, which makes it really interesting for the dog to chew and engage them. These are simple chew toys that can withstand aggressive chewing. The design is curvy from the edges, which can be easily gripped by the paw. These toys further help strengthen the dog’s teeth and are safe for heavy-duty jaws.

3. Rubber Chew Toys:

When we talk about rubber toys, we mean the ones made with high-quality rubber that is used in aircraft and spaceships. These come in multiple sizes and shapes with different levels of durability. You should choose one based on the level of chewer your dog is. These toys work well for dogs who like to shred. They come in cute animal shapes too, though the dog only cares about chewing the toy.

4. Squeaker Plush Toys:

These are soft toys for dogs that are more durable than the usual ones. A few come with a stuffed rope that is suitable for the dog to play with; others are simple plush toys with a squeaker that makes a sound when pressed. Dogs are enticed by the sound of the squeak, maybe because it is close to the duck and love to play with one. Getting a durable plush toy for dogs can be a challenge; hence a few trial and error to needed to fire to what stays.

5. Chase and Fetch Toys:

These toys are pretty popular with dogs as they love to fetch. This is suitable for dogs’ mental stimulation and also offers them a good amount of physical workouts. This type of toy is not meant to be chewed, as the dog’s interaction with the toy is just to catch it and bring it back to you. This may be a simple tennis ball or a rubber ball. You can also get a frisbee for the dog to fetch. These toys may not be as durable as the chew toy, solely because this toy’s purpose is different.

6. Rope Toys:

This is a simple toy that is helpful for you to interact with the dog. As the name suggests, these are made of rope and purely meant to play tug-of-war with the dog. The dog may try to destroy the toy, but mainly you will find your dog holding the rope in their mouth and requesting you to play along. Do not forget to lose at times to enhance your dog’s self-confidence.

7. Interactive Toys:

These toys are the by-products of pet technology. These toys are battery-operated and need to be connected to the home network. There is usually an app that helps control the toy. These toys can be remotely operated; hence, no physical interaction of yours is needed. The toy interacts directly with the dog and keeps it absolutely engaged. This means you can leave the dog home alone and not worry for a while, as your dog has a friend to play with now.

Things to Consider While Getting a Toy for the Dog:

When shopping for toys for your dog, you should always consider the age and size of the dog. Bigger dogs have more chew strength and can easily destroy a toy as compared to smaller dogs. Hence, you need to buy toys appropriate for the dog’s size. A small toy for a large dog can be a choking hazard and also will get destroyed sooner. On the other hand, a larger toy for a small dog might seem tough for the dog to play with, and eventually, they may not show much interest.

Another parameter to consider is the durability of the toy. Usually, the tag you find on a toy mentions if it is suitable for aggressive it moderate chewer. If your dog is an aggressive chewer, get more durable toys that are specifically designed for aggressive chewers.

The Bottom Line:

Toys are meant to be used, and as dogs do not use their paws to play but their mouths, there is a high possibility that toys may get destroyed, which is ok at times. Be sure to offer your dog enough exercise, so they do not get destructive around their toys. A few simple changes can help curb the habit, and your dog will enjoy playing with its favorite toys longer.
