You probably read the title and hoped to find some answers. But before we dive into what you’re here for, let me ask you this: How many times have you looked up something and gone straight to the customer reviews section?

Exactly. In this day and age, online shopping is so convenient, and checking out is just a few clicks away. But before completing our purchase, we as consumers, feel the need to check out existing reviews — a second nature to us. 

But why are customer reviews so important to us?

It is true when they say “your reputation precedes you” because even tech giants like Apple and Microsoft have based their success on credibility. They are able to amass huge sales numbers, thanks to their ability to increase their social proof.

Instagram scheduling – and what it means for brands

If you haven’t already heard, Instagram has just released a brand new function for creators. So, buckle up ‘cause you’re in for a treat!

What’s new on Instagram?

Wait for it… an in-app scheduling tool!

This new update comes in after weeks of testing with selected users, and it’s officially available for professional accounts on the platform. With this new tool, creators can schedule Photo and Carousel posts, and Reels up to 75 days in advance — doesn’t that sound sick?

And that’s not all! Instagram has also launched “Achievements” celebrating the efforts Instagram creators have put into their Reels. 

How does the in-app scheduling work?

Looking to schedule your first Instagram Reel? Head over to “Advanced Settings”, where you can find “Schedule this post”. Select the time and date that you want the post to go live, click “Schedule” and there, you’re set!

There are three ways you can unlock various “Achievements”:

  1. Collaborate with other creators on the platform using Add Yours stickers, or collab tools 
  2. Interact with the community by making your Reels more interactive (with stickers like Polls, Quizzes, etc.)
  3. Join conversations by using trending audio or effects

How does it change the way you work?

SAVE TIME

Whether you’re a creator or working as a social media manager, you’d know all too well about third-party scheduling tools like Hootsuite or Planoly, used to schedule posts on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and even LinkedIn.

You’d also know that these tools are not 100% foolproof and might fail you from time to time. However, you can now save time with Instagram’s latest feature. You no longer have to jump across multiple third-party tools and tabs just to schedule a single carousel post. 

SAVE COST

That’s not the only thing you’re saving! These third-party scheduling tools do come with a price; a subscription fee. Now, with Instagram’s in-app scheduling feature, you no longer need subscription plans across multiple tools. I’m talking about $20 to $50 a month per tool, so if you’re currently subscribed to multiple, that’d be almost $100  — creators and brands rejoice!

EASY TO USE

If you own a creator account, and you aren’t scheduling your posts, now’s the time to do so. By scheduling your post, you’re able to upload real-time updates. For example, if you’re hoping to upload seasonal posts or preparing for product launches, scheduling allows you to post them at the exact date and time you want. 

Additionally, you can now work with a better schedule as it allows you to plan your content accordingly. Rushing through content and only posting whenever you’re done can lead to inconsistency in your feed. Furthermore, your posts can get lost in your follower’s feed or drowned out by the algorithms, if you have a sporadic posting schedule.  

Instagram’s newest feature makes it convenient for creators who are new to scheduling. 

Conclusion

Instagram’s latest tool allows you to accomplish what some of the aforementioned third-party tools can’t (like Carousel posts, location tagging, etc.). Which is bound to come in handy with the holiday season coming up. What are you waiting for? Get to scheduling!

Adoption Drive

The highly anticipated adoption drive, organized by the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), and supported by Animal Welfare Group (AWG) Partners is back at PetExpo 2022!

Previous years’ reception was very successful, with many rescued animals given a second chance to find their forever home.

If you’re looking to add a new member to your loving family, you don’t have to look far! There are all types of animals available at the drive, from fluffy bunnies to adorable dogs. Not sure what animals suit you? Feel free to ask the staff or volunteers that are ready to answer any questions.

Note: Being a pet owner is never easy, with many responsibilities that follow. Hence, AWGs do hold screening processes to ensure the welfare of these animals.

Pawjourr’s Creators: Modern.lassie

Lassie and her mom-ager, Scarlett

Scarlett always knew deep down she was gonna get a dog one day. But what she didn’t know was when.

Earlier this year, she browsed through good dog, looking for available Shelties. However, the next available one was only till May, and she couldn’t wait to be a pawmom! She went on to search for Collies, unable to resist their cuteness. As if it was predestined, the moment she laid eyes on Lassie (then Sophie), Scarlett knew she was special — and she was available!

“She looked energetic, sassy, smartypants, and had a beautiful sable color. And I immediately applied for her and everything is history,” Scarlett added.

Lassie, a farm girl from a breeder in Danville, Pennsylvania, has now found a forever home in Washington, DC, with Scarlett, and her sister Luna, a two-year-old pure white cat.

More than a pawdel

At first glance, Lassie is the prettiest pawdel you’ve ever seen. But once you get to know her, you’d realize she is more than just a pretty face.

Lassie is highly-intelligent, with a ton of tricks up her sleeves. Of course, Scarlett is always working on a new one, currently teaching her “sit pretty” — getting her to pose with both paws up, and with Luna.

And that’s not all! Lassie is very obedient and calm, able to be still even without a leash, allowing her pawmom to take the perfect shots. Coupled with her amazing side profile (thanks to her long face), she makes the pawfect pawdel. This makes outdoor photoshoots for pet apparels with Lassie a breeze!

Besides being the best pet model you could ever ask for, Lassie is a graceful sprinter too. Rough Collies are known for their beautiful long coat that flows as they run, and Lassie is no exception!

Our DC residents have been a #PawjourrCreator since August and they have participated in various campaigns. Mom-ager Scarlett, knowing her baby’s talent, has a knack for choosing campaigns that are best suited for Lassie.

While it’s great to accept what comes your way, it’s also equally important to align yourself with brands that fit your own branding. You wouldn’t want to promote a product/service that doesn’t resonate with your audience. 

It is also a misconception that unpaid campaigns are bad. There are countless brands that exclusively run product-only campaigns. 

Relationships are a fundamental part of influencer marketing. Consider cultivating a long-term partnership with various brands. This way, you can organically recommend their products/services rather than one-time posts that may bring down your credibility. 

This is very important because the recommendations and reviews you make do contribute to the consumer’s purchasing decision.

Our mission

Vitakraft, known for their sugar-free recipes and palatable pet food, had collaborated with SUPERPETS to promote their products and the highly anticipated movie, DC League of Super-Pets.

DC League of Super-Pets was set to screen their first show on September 1 – and Pawjourr’s pet creators were given the chance to catch the movie for free!

Selected influencers received an exclusive PR kit containing SUPERPETS merch and Vitakraft goodies — what a treat!

Funan’s outdoor screening cinema

Ever wanted to bring your furkids out to the movies? Well, Golden Village and Funan must have heard you. ‘Movies under the Moonlight’, an outdoor movie screening of ‘DC League of Super-Pets’ at Funan’s Rooftop Garden was a result of their collaboration — and that’s right, ‘SUPERPETS’ were welcomed!

Viewers’ tickets came with a free goodie bag, popcorn, drink, and picnic mat. Additionally, they were given headphones for a better viewing experience.

Unique campaign to remember

Calie, with her pawmom Allexisse, had a blast soaking up Singapore’s cityscape at night. What hooked Allexisse to be part of this event was its inclusivity. 

“It was so nice of a change to have a pet-friendly movie screening outdoors and knowing we were allowed to bring our furkids with us did make the experience a lot more wholesome as well!”

Besides being a great opportunity for hoomans to bond with their furkids, the collaborative event was targeted to both humans and animals, allowing them to enjoy different parts of the campaign. Which made Allexisse to find this unique campaign to be an experience to remember.  “I do hope we can have more projects like this available in the future!”

Pawjourr: Pet Wellness Month

October marks a significant month for pet owners all over the world. Why? Because it’s Pet Wellness Month of course! 

Our fur kids do not just deserve the best, they need it. We, humans, are able to communicate and express our emotions and well-being; when we’re sick. However, our pets can’t tell us when they’re under the weather. That’s why our goal as pet owners is to prioritize their well-being and it’s on us to ensure they stay healthy all year round — not just in October. 

Here’s a simple checklist of things to look out for to ensure your pet is the picture of health!

Exercise, exercise, exercise!

Like humans, the key to living a long and healthy life is exercise. All dogs should, at the minimum, go for a walk or two every day, keeping in mind the limits for puppies. Get your cats active by playing with them in short but frequent sessions.

You may also supplement with a jog, hike, swim, and even canine conditioning if your pup is ready for it. Keeping active will help develop muscles that support their joints!

Keep them occupied

It doesn’t take long for your pets to get bored, and boredom leads to different problems. Play with them, even if it’s just five minutes. Fight the boredom by giving them activities to partake in — and one healthy way is through toys.

Pets benefit from mentally stimulating activities, like chew-toys and puzzle toys with hidden treats. So, hide their toys and let them go on a treasure hunt. 

Dogs love tug of war. It is a great display of their predatory nature and it provides mental and physical exercise for them. Cats on the other hand get bored very easily. Hence, you need to understand your feline’s needs. You can get them a scratching post to help them ‘blow off some steam’ or release their excitement. Be sure to find the right one!

Keep an eye on your pet’s weight

Just like us, pets can face a number of health issues if they become too heavy. Obesity among pets has been on the rise with pet owners oblivious to the health threats that it poses to them. 

Here’s how you can keep your pet’s weight in a healthy range:

  • Feed them a diet with wholesome ingredients that meets the requirements of their size, breed, and age
  • Consider providing them with a prescription diet 
  • Schedule appointments to the vet regularly for check-up
  • Give them treats sparingly
  • Plenty of exercise

Schedule regular health appointments

Our pets age faster than we do, meaning changes in their health can occur quickly. Scheduling wellness check-ups often is the best way to keep them free from illnesses.

With a trip to the vet, you can seek medical advice regarding your pet’s health. This would often lead to certain changes in their routine, be it exercise or diet, which can prevent potential health problems. 

Additionally, a trip to the vet can also increase your pet’s chance of survival as early detection can lead to early treatment. Veterinarians would recommend a trip at least once a year.

Don’t forget about dental health

Often overlooked, dental health is just as important for pets as it is for humans. Periodontal disease can occur when plaque build-up on your pets’ teeth leads to infection in the gums and bone loss. This infection can cause pain, tooth loss, and internal organ damage if left untreated.

Luckily, there are ways to prevent it. Regular dental exams can help veterinarians detect and treat dental issues before they become irreversible. At-home dental care consists of daily brushing. You can also complement brushing with a special diet, water additives or sealants.

Prioritizing their health

There are many ways to show our pets that we care. By taking steps to promote their physical and mental health all year long, we can help keep them happy and healthy throughout their lives. 

Pet Wellness Month may be celebrated in October, but always remember that it’s a lifelong commitment that should be promoted all year long!

Pawjourr’s Creators: Allthatauss

Have you ever come across a mother-daughter pawdel duo? Uncommon, but not a rare sight. Let me introduce you to Scarlett and Penne!

The AUSSventures begins

Scarlett is a two and a half years old Red Merle Mini American Shepherd, also known as Mini Aussie. Penne, a Red Tri Mini American Shepherd, is her four-month-old daughter.

Their story began in May when Scarlett gave birth to a litter of eight puppies*; four boys and four girls. The entire litter of puppies was named after Pasta noodles — voted via Instagram polls — with Penne being the second pup to enter the world!

The litter has since gone their separate ways, renamed, and taken into different families. However, the puppies would appear on their social media now and then for a mini-reunion, staying connected forever!

Thrill-seeking Aussies

Miniature Shepherds are active and athletic, and our two Aussies are no exception! Scarlett is the master of tricks — knowing 10 — Penne, on the other hand, is still a work in progress. But one day she will know just as many as her mom!

Their parents love making reels of all the crazy things they do, especially documenting all the AUSSventures they partake in on Instagram and TikTok. They can be frequently spotted taking boat rides, swimming, hiking, and playing tug of war with each other — what an adventure!

Since joining Pawjourr as a pet creator, Scarlett has been a part of two campaigns. As Scarlett tends to get anxious easily, it only makes sense that our creators worked with Finn and Tailspring. Scarlett has benefited a lot from Finn supplements and Tailspring goat milk toppers, these calming aids have helped Scarlett in more than one way; these calming aids do not just soothe Scarlett, they also serve as nutritious treats!

Daughter Penne was featured in her first campaign this past August – yay! Unlike her mom Scarlett, Penne isn’t suitable for all the campaigns available. However, Aroma Paws pet shampoo is perfect for young pups like her. This is because their coats are softer and more delicate, which requires more care.

The YoDoggo Pack 

Earlier this May, we worked with YoDoggo to find the perfect influencers that fit their campaign. Let’s take a look at how they’ve increased and strengthened their presence in the community!

YoDoggo is a newly launched pet food brand in Singapore. They specialize in making completely balanced, 100% human-grade food for dogs — seeking to reimagine the quality of dog food — using 90% fresh meat and 10% vegetables, power seeds, and antioxidants. 

With this pathos, they targeted our local community of pet content creators for collaboration to help increase brand recognition in Singapore.

Finding the perfect ambassadors

YoDoggo’s objective was to find committed brand ambassadors who share the same values of providing the best nutrition for their dogs. 

Through a collaborative social search, we organized an open call, to recruit passionate content creators who were keen to join the #yodoggopack

Here are some of the perks they could enjoy: 

  • Monthly meals delivered to their doorstep for 6 months
  • A personalized discount code for ambassadors’ followers 
  • Attractive referral commissions
  • Monthly cash reimbursement

Ambassadors were selected based on their ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently while building customer loyalty and commitment. Most importantly, they believed in what the brand stands for and are committed to advocating for the YoDoggo diet! 

As ambassadors for YoDoggo, the four creators would actively promote the brand through Instagram reels, images, and stories for a period of 6 months.

Building a successful ambassadorship program
